RAIN! OH NO!
This rain will ruin everything! Not really. Have I lost my mind? Not really. I had always heard "Happy is the bride that rain falls on". Think back to times when you have been inside and everything is quiet, and then you start to hear a gentle spring rain on the roof, or skylight or windows. It's very romantic to hear. Cuddling up together on a rainy day is wonderful. So let that romantic thought replace the OH NO.
Picture the two of you running off cuddled under the same umbrella. Speaking of pictures - aren't dewy wet flowers more beautiful? If the weather is a little warm, it gets misty out there and it gives a very unusual flare to photos. Picture being huddled under a tree together, a real Kodak moment. I have seen weddings where each bridesmaid and usher couple have different brightly colored umbrellas. Very pretty! If you know ahead that there is a whole week of rain coming you can get umbrellas in plenty of time.
If there is thunder and lightning in the background, Mother Nature is sending up fireworks to celebrate with you. What could be prettier than capturing a rainbow? It's considered especially good luck. The rain washes all the dust and dirt away from everything - the grass, driveways, parking lots, trees, bushes and is like purifying everything to brand new to start your brand new married life together. The rain makes a clean slate.
On a cloudy rainy day, there is no staring into the sun in photos. The lighting is much better. The rain will cool things down a little and help keep your make-up from running with perspiration, which also saves you from that shiny sweaty look. Bring a compact of powder just in case. There are lots of waterproof make-ups available these days, which is a good idea in any weather to prevent that racoon eyed look when you get emotional. No worry about hairdos falling with the iron clad hairspray that they have these days!
If I've done a good job here, you might even hope for some rain!
